Thursday morning, Venezuelan Internet users began reporting that Zello, a smartphone application offering a chat service internet by near the "walkie-talkie" had stopped working on their cell phones. Many Venezuelans had begun to use the application star wars bedding to exchange information and organize protests which quickly intensified since 18 days. According to information from Zello, the application would have been locally downloaded 15,000 times in one day last week. The blockage occurred one day after President Maduro said the government had intercepted calls made by Zello to monitor protesters. On Twitter, Andrés Azpurua revealed:

Thursday evening, Zello said at the news agency Associated Press [English] that the national group Venezuelan telecom CANTV, which covers 80% of the market for telecommunications in the country, is causing the blockage.
